Thrill of the Chase –

Spread Design

Thrill of the Chase was introduced in my Typography III class as a spread design project. The premise was to select a topic which was considered a secret. I chose an article about the treasure for Forrest Fenn, a collection of over 1 million dollars worth of relics and antiques hidden in the Rocky Mountains. The concept I styled the spreads to be simple focusing on the landscapes described by the clues. The original purpose of the treasure hunt was for Forrest Fenn to push people to go out and explore the wilderness more. I wanted the typography to be simple but impactful so I made the title spread large and aligned to tiers of the image; the forest, mountains, and sky. The use of italics was to add a sense of rush and speed that the title implies.
